"When my husband abruptly decided to end our 28 year marriage, I had no idea where to turn or what to do. I contacted Colby because I felt a collaborative divorce would be best for my family and me. It was a decision I never regretted. Colby was not only professional and knowledgeable, but was also a sympathetic and calming counselor. During the entire ordeal, he unfailingly returned my phone calls and emails promptly with complete answers to my questions and sound advice with how to proceed. His assistance was invaluable and I recommend him highly and with no reservation."

I understand that you and your family are going through what is, at best, an emotionally difficult process. I also know that every client is unique, and I take the time to get to know you and clearly identify your personal goals and objectives. Together we discuss available options, and begin the process of moving forward toward a new chapter in your life.

A Maryland resident since 1969, I have more than a fifteen years of legal experience. Prior to founding my firm in 2009, I served five years as an award winning Assistant State's Attorney for Howard County and served two years as the chief legal counsel to the Howard County Police Department.

I earned a B.A. from Penn State University and a J.D. from the Michigan State University College of Law. In law school, I was the recipient of the Jurisprudence Achievement Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and Litigation. I also had the honor of serving as a law clerk to two Circuit Court Judges, and completed a graduate program at Georgetown University in leadership coaching.

I have served on the Board of Howard County Collaborative Professionals (HCCP) in a number of capacities, including President. Additionally, I am a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and a certified Collaborative Family Law Practitioner. I also served on the Board of Trustees of Trinity School in Ellicott City, Maryland.

My firm was featured in the "Best of Baltimore 2011" series in the City Paper (Link).
